Description
Suvarna Ajwain Honey is honey made by bees that forage on the flowers of the ajwain (carom) plant, packed in a 500g glass jar. Honey gathered mainly from one kind of flower takes on some of that flower's character, and ajwain honey is known for a darker colour and a deep, slightly herbal sweetness. The pack describes it as 100% raw and hand-harvested, with no added sugar.
Enjoy a spoonful on its own, or stir it into warm water, lemon water, herbal tea or warm milk once the drink has cooled a little. Drizzle it over toast, pancakes, porridge, fruit and yoghurt, or use it in marinades and dressings where its fuller flavour stands out. As with all natural honey, the colour, taste and thickness can change a little from batch to batch.
Honey can crystallise and turn thick or grainy in cool weather. This is natural and does not mean it has spoiled; place the closed jar in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water and stir until it turns liquid again. Do not give honey to children under one year of age.
Always use a clean, dry spoon and close the lid tightly after use. Store the jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight; there is no need to refrigerate it.
