Unpolished pulses keep their natural, matte look and are preferred by shoppers who like their dal as close to its natural state as possible. Red masoor is one of the quickest cooking pulses, turning soft and creamy in a short time.
Red masoor is remarkably flexible. Cook it into a comforting tadka dal, blend it into soups, or use it in khichdi, dal parathas, kofta curries and simple lentil stews.
